New Rodeostat enclosure
In this weeks Newsletter we highlight two new Rodeostat products: a new 3D-printed enclosure and a new 50K dummy cell. We also have a 20% discount for Newsletter Subscribers (see below for details).
Rodeostat Enclosure
We previously shared the design of a new 3D printed Rodeostat enclosure in Newsletter #7
We finished testing the prototype and now have a batch of enclosures ready to ship. Below are some pictures of the final 3D printed enclosure
As always, this is an Open Hardware design. The design files are here
20% discount for newsletter subscribers
Future Rodeostat orders will ship with the new 3D printed enclosure. We have also added the enclosure to the online store for any current Rodeostat users that would like to upgrade their Rodeostat. All newsletter subscribers can receive a 20% discount. We will keep this offer up for the next two weeks until September 28th.
Rodeostat Enclosure
3D printed, SLA black resin enclosure for the Rodeostat open source potentiostat. Enclosure design process is described in Newsletter #7.
New 50K Dummy Cells
In addition to the new Rodeostat enclosure we also tested a new dummy cell design. A "dummy cell" is a simple circuit which can be used to test the behavior of a potentiostat. They are frequently used to verify that the device is operating correctly and can be used to generate custom calibrations to improve device performance. We will add some tutorials about this soon! The new design uses surface mount components making it easier to manufacture. In addition, because of the small size, it can be plugged directly into the Rodeostat removing the need for the 3-conductor cable. The new dummy cell design will be included with all new Rodestat orders. In addition we plan to make additional versions with alternative resistance values. The PCB for our original through-hole design is still available for purchase on our online store for those wishing to make their own custom dummy cells.
